What is special about this course?
This course provides you with an ideal route towards a career in Science and technology or into health-related studies such as: nursing, physiotherapist, biomedical science, podiatry and speech therapy. Suitable for those returning to education, this course is recognised by SWAP-East (Scottish Wider Access Program), which allows progression to a wide range of HNC, HND and degree level courses.
An SCQF level 5 in Applied Science or equivalent, or appropriate SCQF level 5 qualifications in Chemistry and Biology. Other qualifications may be considered. The interview process will include a discussion of your application and you should be able to show a clear interest in pursuing a career in this field.
You will study a range of Science subjects at SCQF level 5 and 6, including Chemistry, Biology and Human Biology, Physics and Environmental Science, as well as units in Maths, ICT and Communication. You will also gain practical laboratory experience in experimental procedures and Microbiology.
