If you would like to get the benefits a Higher Education can bring, this course is for you. This course is a SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme) and as well as proving your academic credibility, it will develop the skills you need to progress to a wide range of HNC, HND or degree courses.
You should have seven qualifications at SCQF Level 4/5 or equivalent or Intermediate 2 passes in relevant subjects.
If you don’t meet our entry requirements, your previous experience and credentials may still qualify you for this course. Please arrange an appointment with a member of College staff to discuss your eligibility.
Core skills are an essential part of this course and you will study IT, communications, numeracy and personal development planning.
You will also take SQA Higher subjects relevant to your future study and intended career, choosing a minimum of four from English, Psychology, History, Politics and Geography.
Face to face teaching and independent study.
Most full-time students will have their fees paid.
Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
You can apply for our HNC Social Sciences, BA Sociolgy and Criminology, BA Social Sciences, BSc Psychology, BA History and Politics, BA Scottish History degree programmes at Perth College UHI.
The course provides a wide range of applicants including adults who have been out of education for at least three years with the chance to join a range of Higher Education courses throughout the Highlands and Islands through UHI. Successful completion can lead to entry to humanities programmes in Tayside, at the Universities of St Andrews, Dundee or Abertay.
