Andrew Comrie, Senior Independent Board Member
Andrew has worked in both the College and Higher Education sectors for over 30 years as an academic, senior manager and as a freelance consultant.
Andrew joined the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) in 2014 as Director of Academic Innovation leading developments in postgraduate learning and teaching and expanding our pre-HE provision to enable children and young people start specialist performing arts education and training in music, drama, dance, production arts and film from the age of 7 upwards.
As the first in his family to access higher education, Andrew knows first-hand that education can make a difference and has dedicated much of his career to helping those from the most marginalised parts of our society access further and higher education.
Between 2007 and 2014, Andrew was Director of the Edinburgh and Lothians Articulation Hub. In January 2018, Andrew took on a revised, part-time role at RCS as Director of Fair Access to progress our widening access work. Andrew’s other interests include technology enhanced learning and teaching, curriculum design and quality enhancement.
