Catherine Etri, Vice Principal – Academic

With over 20 years’ experience of the education sector both in Scotland and abroad, Catherine has held a number of managerial positions within the FE/HE sector.  Before commencing her career in education she held positions within local government and British Telecom. In addition to her role at UHI Perth, Catherine has assumed a number of additional roles within the education sector, including the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Education Scotland.  She has also served as an external representative for the formal validation of degrees in a number of Scottish universities.

She worked in Middle East on the implementation and development of a new education college, where she provided guidance on SQA institutional approval and the development of a vocationally focussed curriculum. She supported two recent projects including the multi-million pound Academy of Sport and Wellbeing and the Perth Outdoor Activity Centre based at Willowgate on the bank of the River Tay.
