Meet our Senior Management Team
Our Senior Managers are responsible for leading Perth College UHI towards our Vision 2021 by setting and coordinating our strategic and operational goals.
Veronica Lynch, Vice Principal – External
Veronica started with Perth College UHI in May 2018 and brings with her 10 years education experience from her role as Director of External Relations at Dundee and Angus College. Veronica has also held senior posts in Scottish Enterprise and in Scottish Development International leading Account Management, Technology, Inward Investment and International Trade Teams regionally and nationally. Veronica was also a former Board member at West Lothian College. She is currently a Board member of Caledonia Housing Association and a member of Abertay University’s Court.
Lorenz Cairns, Depute Principal - Academic
Lorenz studied Music at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and then completed his Masters in Music at Leeds College of music, focusing on Jazz improvisation and critical musicology. Lorenz also has a teaching qualification from Dundee University (TQFE). As a professional musician, Lorenz has extensive experience in theatre, television/radio and session playing throughout Scotland and the UK. He has toured the world with major artists and continues his professional practice to this day.
Catherine Etri, Associate Principal
With over 20 years’ experience of the education sector both in Scotland and abroad, Catherine has held a number of managerial positions within the FE/HE sector. Before commencing her career in education she held positions within local government and British Telecom. In addition to her role at Perth College UHI, Catherine has assumed a number of additional roles within the education sector, including the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Education Scotland. She has also served as an external representative for the formal validation of degrees in a number of Scottish universities.
She worked in Middle East on the implementation and development of a new education college, where she provided guidance on SQA institutional approval and the development of a vocationally focussed curriculum. She supported two recent projects including the multi-million pound Academy of Sport and Wellbeing and the Perth Outdoor Activity Centre based at Willowgate on the bank of the River Tay.
