 Support for Learning

Support for learning at Perth College

Here at Perth College UHI we're committed to making sure you have the support you need to be successful on your chosen course.

We want you to have a more confident future with your learning study skills support, whether you're moving on to a new level of study, returning to study after a break or wondering how should you take notes that are useful and thinking about handling exams.

Not written an essay or used referencing? Or is your number work a bit rusty? Whether you would like support with a specific learning difficulty or just want to brush up on your skills, there are many people at Perth College UHI who will support you in your learning. The first point of contact will be your Student Adviser who will guide you to the right support.

The Learning Zone based on the top floor of the Study Centre in the Brahan building is staffed by Learning Mentors and Study Skills Support Staff for one hour each day. Workshops in communication, numeracy and support for non native English speakers are also available.

Guides to help you are available in the Learning Resources Centre or in the Study Skills section.

The Study Skills support team can help individual students, classes or groups at all levels in the college.

You can access the Study Skills Support team in several ways:

  • Speak to your student advisor
  • Discuss your study needs with Student Services
  • Email studyskills@perth.uhi.ac.uk and a member of the Study Skills Support team will get in touch with you
  • Watch out for study groups and workshops being advertised on notice boards, in the Learning Resource Centre, and in the Union.
