Day 1. Monday 15 November 2010
Morning:
- Registration
- ‘Science Speed-Dating Session’ - all participants have a chance to meet each other on a one-to-one basis for two minutes in order to briefly explain their research and interests
- Plenary presentations: Cairngorms National Park, Delivering the National Park Plan, Sustainable research in the Cairngorms and best practice examples
Lunchtime:
- Informal networking over lunch and coffee breaks
Afternoon:
- Group sessions considering research in relation to the CNPA's draft themes for the National Park Plan:
1.Sustainable Land Use
2.Sustainable Forests
3.Sustainable Communities and Destinations
- Plenary: Summary of each themed session by the chairs followed by plenary discussion on future research needs, questions
Evening:
- Dinner and informal networking
Day 2. Tuesday 16 November 2010
Morning:
- Field trip in the Aviemore area with examples of applied research, presented by relevant researchers
Lunchtime:
- Informal networking with an emphasis on connecting research and practice
Afternoon:
- Poster session and discussion, Networking opportunties
- Working groups
creative workshop between research and practice, organised around relevant topics, to develop creative ideas for new applied research projects and better communication between all stakeholders working in the Cairngorms
- Plenary:
Outcomes will be presented in plenary by the discussion facilitator at each table. There will also be time for plenary discussion in the end of the workshops.
