 How is the Programme Taught?

Each module is delivered through online and CD teaching and learning materials. These include video lectures, PowerPoint presentations, video and audio interviews, sample materials and documents, articles and reading references. You will also have access to thousands of peer-reviewed journal articles online as well as a growing library of e-books which help make distance learning as easy as possible.

A recent review by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education commended the programme’s learning, teaching and assessment resources as excellent and comprehensive.

Teaching and learning is delivered and supported through UHI’s online teaching or virtual learning environment, Blackboard. This hosts dedicated module discussion forums that enable chat between students and tutors and within your peer group. The approach allows students to share experiences, materials and case studies. Additional support is provided by email and telephone giving you the opportunity to benefit from a team of academic tutors and professional practitioners.

Each module is taught by pairings of experienced academic and senior interpretative professionals and subject experts.

This means you will learn from people with real-life experience.

Pastoral care is provided by the CIS Administrator and a student adviser, who will be assigned to you at the start of your studies.
