Programme structure - designed for your needs
Our understanding of the needs of our students has enabled us to create a flexible distance learning programme structured around three levels of study, each one recognised by an accredited qualification.
The full Masters course comprises eight credit rated modules and a dissertation.
You can receive a postgraduate diploma by completing eight modules or a postgraduate certificate by completing four core modules: communication strategies and theories; interpretation purpose and policy; interpretation planning; implementation of interpretation.
Options are: communicative design; interpreting the historic environment; interpreting the natural environment; interpretive methods and media; sustainable tourism; visitor studies.
All of the above modules can be studied individually as CPD.
If you continue your studies to the MSc, you will need to carry out a piece of independent research on a topic of your choice, selected in consultation with a supervisor. The results are presented in a 14,000 to 16,000-word dissertation.
