To help you to better understand and develop your visitors, the Centre for Interpretation Studies is offering an innovative and exciting 15-week module in January 2010 that can be taken as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or as part of a wider programme of study.
Drawing on research and experience from around the world, Visitor Studies will give you the skills and tools you need to plan and develop more relevant and engaging visitor experiences through:
• An understanding of current research and its relevance to your work and your organisation.
• An understanding of educational, social and motivational theories that can be used to influence visitor behaviour
• The skills and tools you need to influence your visitors
• The ability and confidence to apply this knowledge in your organisation.
The module has been developed and will be delivered by academics and external specialists who are active in visitor studies, audience development and project delivery.
The Centre provides a unique learning experience by delivering sound academic theory and the skills needed to apply this knowledge in the workplace.
