 Professional Development

CIS staff have senior management experience across the public and private sectors. Their in-depth knowledge of organisation and staff needs allows them to offer an informed and understanding approach to staff training and development.

Helping you and your staff develop through Professional Development

The CIS Professional Development programme features master classes and workshops led by senior practitioners and researchers in interpretation, experiential learning, communications, design and related disciplines. The programme includes: public programmes and event planning; writing to interpret and educate; exhibition design; exhibition project management; and evaluation.

These courses are not mere forums for discussion. They provide practical guidance and teach problem-solving skills that will help you and your staff plan and deliver effective projects.

Develop yourself

As well as our professional development activities, the CIS subscribes to a wide variety of research and professional journals and has a growing library of e-books and publications that can be borrowed.

Loch Tay Underwater Archaeology Research Centre

The CIS is working with the Scottish Underwater Archaeology Trust, The Scottish Crannog Centre and Edinburgh University to explore the potential to develop a unique underwater archaeology research centre and experimental archaeology visitor attraction on the shores of Loch Tay.
