The three ‘pavilion’ buildings which will provide accommodation for 72 students will be known as Glen Almond, Glen Lyon and Glen Shee.
The naming of the student residences was opened up to College staff as a competition with Luisa Lynch, Student Funding Officer winning with her suggestion.
She said: “I never expected this, as I knew there were many others with really good ideas for the residences' names.
Like many members of staff, I am impressed with the way the residences have come along and very much look forward to seeing inside them.”
The £3.5 million pound redevelopment also involves the construction of a significant new pedestrian entrance to the College.
