This section covers information relating to Perth College UHI's relationship with our external environment.
It includes how we manage our relationship with the local community and how we retain contact with former staff and students. Much of this information is already made available to the public by some means. In some instances information will be exempt from disclosure where it contains personal information, or information which, if released, may substantially prejudice the commercial interests of any person.
Alumni
Education is the foundation for career opportunities, and so Perth College UHI looks to encourage life-long relationships with its former students, our Alumni, in order to sustain future prosperity. The relationship between the College and our alumni is all about maintaining contacts and friendships from College days as well as helping future students by donations of time, advice and perhaps even money.
Community Relations
As part of our service to local communities throughout Perth and Kinross, we run Learning Centres in Blairgowrie, Crieff (in partnership with Perth & Kinross Council), Kinross, Pitlochry and Pathways in Perth. Each centre is equipped with the latest technology and provides the local community with access to a wide range of courses, which can be studied in different ways throughout the year. Centre staff can provide help from initial enquiry to course induction. Information on College courses and services is available and appointments can be arranged with specialist adult guidance advisers.
Our Learning Centres are also convenient for local businesses looking for IT training, from basic to advanced level. More information about Learning Centres can be found elsewhere on our website.
Development activities
Development activities are undertaken by the Perth College Development Trust, which was established in 1996 to raise funds from private sources to assist the funding of capital development at the College and to award scholarships and grants to students. Since then the College has invested over £12 million in the development of the Campus with over half coming from private sources.
