About this course

An introduction to some basic issues in economics with a particular emphasis on the business environment. You will develop an understanding of the basic economic problem (i.e. the allocation of resources) and how the consumer and other economic agents address this problem. You will also learn how markets operate and what can be done when the operation of these markets fail. National Income is also considered. It offers progression towards HNC Accounting, HNC AIT and HNC Business.

This course costs £86, in completing it you will receive 1 HN Credit at SCQF level 7

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Explain the allocation of resources within the economy.
  • Explain the theory of National Income.
  • Explain and evaluate the role of government policy in the UK market.
