About this course
Interpretation plays a vital role in communicating the meaning of natural and cultural resources to visitors and local communities, with successful commercial tourism and cultural attractions all featuring well-presented, meaningful information. This distinctive postgraduate course, created by a range of public agencies, aims to meet the growing demand for skilled and innovative professionals who can deliver effective interpretation products, programmes and communication.
It is taught online for maximum flexibility, but you will have the chance to meet other students once a year in Perth during the induction weekend.
You study
The full Masters course comprises eight credit rated modules and a dissertation. You can receive a postgraduate diploma by completing eight modules or a postgraduate certificate by completing four core modules: communication strategies and theories; interpretation purpose and policy; interpretation planning and implementation of interpretation.
Options are: communicative design; interpreting the historic environment; interpreting the natural environment; interpretive methods and media; sustainable tourism and visitor studies.
