About this course

In today’s dynamic business environment, effective sales and marketing strategies are vital to boost both profitability and reputation. Our business with marketing course has been designed to give you this expertise.  The course content has been put together following consultation with employers to ensure that students gain relevant competencies for entry level marketing positions.  There is also an opportunity for further studies in marketing at degree level.  

You study

Introduction to marketing, international marketing, economics, business accounting, IT, business law, personal enterprise skills, creating a culture of customer care, introduction to HR and communications.

Getting started 

A Higher Grade at C or above and two Standard Grades, preferably in English and Mathematics, or a relevant NQ.

This course should provide you with direct entry to HND Business, Year 2. If you don’t meet our entry requirements, your previous experience and credentials may still qualify you for this course. Please arrange an appointment with a member of College staff to discuss your eligibility.

Getting more 

Progression at Perth College UHI

The HNC leads to Year 2 of our HND Business course, which may lead you towards Year 3 of our degree in Business and Management where a choice can be made to specialise in marketing.

Careers and Training

Employment in marketing and general business, progressing to supervisory line management positions. There is a role for marketing in every business sector including agencies specialising in advertising, PR and direct marketing.
