About this course
Sound engineers work with musicians, producers, web designers and programme makers to help create high-quality soundtracks in music and speech.
This foundation level course is designed for those with an interest in sound engineering who may want to consider a professional career. It provides basic training in all aspects of the subject, from multi-track and stereo recording to digital audio workstations.
You study
The year-long programme covers basic sound engineering skills: multi track recording; stereo recording; listening to music; small-scale sound production; sound and basic recording techniques; communication; live sound mixing; digital/audio workstations.
Getting started
There are no formal entry requirements, although you must have an enthusiasm for sound production and recording.

Skills gained on this course will help prepare you for an HNC or HND in Sound Production, and those who are successful are guaranteed to be considered for the higher level courses.
