About this course
This course is designed to provide you with an introduction to both the hairdressing and beauty therapy industries. It aims to develop your basic knowledge and skills so you can progress onto the NC in Beauty Therapy or NVQ in Hairdressing 2.
You study
Our entry-level hairdressing course includes: basic facial treatments and helping with advanced facial treatments; basic hand treatments and helping with advanced hand treatments; safety in the salon; reception duties; hair shampoo and condition; help with advanced hair treatments; personal grooming in both beauty and hairdressing and core skills. The emphasis is on learning practical skills and having high personal standards.
Getting started
You do not need any formal qualifications but you must get on well with people, be able to work hard and maintain a pleasant, customer-focused manner. Attention to personal presentation is important and some artistic flair is useful.

This course can provide progression to NVQ 2 Hairdressing or NC Beauty Therapy.
