About the course
Perth College UHI’s Language School has been providing tuition in General English for over 30 years and has British Council accreditation for these courses. Our ESOL classes are designed to improve all aspects of students’ English – communication skills, grammar and vocabulary. The course aims to give you the language you need for work, study, participation in UK life, and international communication. Local businesses can arrange tuition for their staff in College or in the workplace.
You study
Full-time students follow a systematic programme based around published course-books but drawing on a wide range of additional sources. Materials for self study are available on the College’s virtual learning environment. Students take assessments for SQA Units at an appropriate level and may be prepared for Cambridge ESOL examinations if their English reaches a high enough level of competency. Part-time (2 hours per week) evening classes are also available. They take place from September to November, January to March and from April to June.

Tuesday 6.45 - 8.45pm - Low intermediate/Intermediate Level
Wednesday 6.45 - 8.45pm - Upper intermediate/Advanced Level

You must be available to attend the full-time course for the whole ten months and be prepared to spend additional time studying and revising on a regular basis. We can usually cater for every level.
