Masters in Business Administration
Our MBA programme aims to provide you with the comprehensive knowledge, skills and understanding to enable you to become a future senior manager. You will gain an understanding of the key functional areas of international business and management and have an opportunity to apply your learning to ‘live’ situations through the use of case studies, team projects, seminars and assessments.
Our intensive professional programme for international students begins at induction. This will provide you with the opportunity to improve your reading skills, develop your critical thinking and reference skills, develop your writing and analytical skills and improve your listening skills and speaking skills in a business management context. It will also improve your knowledge of management concepts and models and provide an introduction to our learning resources both on campus and online. Our students work in small teaching groups, providing you with personal attention and a greater opportunity to succeed. There is an emphasis on teamwork and personal development.
Students on our MBA programme will gain Associate membership of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI); this provides students with unlimited free access to the Institute’s Management Information Centre, recognised as Europe’s most comprehensive management resource. Students will have the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of a wide variety of visiting speakers from the world of industry. Recent seminars have been presented by Chris van der Kuyl from Brightsolid Ltd, the owners of Friends Reunited and Michelle Mone OBE, Creator of Ultimo Lingerie and founder and co-owner of MJM International.
We have an excellent international profile and a number of well developed institutional partnerships that include: Bydgoszcz University, Poland; Andhra University, India ; Monmouth University, USA; Cape Breton University, Canada; Jordanian Royal Airforce, Jordan.
Structure of the MBA
The MBA programme consists of modules totalling 180 credits including a dissertation. The taught stage of the programme takes place over 2 x15-week semesters.
Entry qualifications
• A first class degree or first class honours degree from a recognised university or equivalent awarding institution; or • A professional qualification recognised as equivalent to the above; and • An IELTS score of 6.5 or above • It is desirable that you have work experience after graduation.
Application
You should complete an application form and also provide a statement of purpose which details any work experience you have. • You must provide copies of your qualifications and marks, • You must provide your English language certificate and academic references. • You may be interviewed in country. You may be asked to undertake a short piece of assessment work as part of the application process. You will be provided with a question at your interview and will be given time to write your answer. This will be included with your application.
