Course Details

BPEC ACS Domestic Gas Training Centre

We offer training in our specialist gas safety centre for domestic gas safety courses under the national certification scheme (ACS) accredited by BPEC. For most people in Perthshire, Tayside, Fife and the Highlands, this will be a quick refresher of methods and testing procedures, calculations and changes to legislation.

We also offer a longer course for those with limited experience in the gas industry, which spends more time on all of the testing procedures and methods.

Our lecturers are fully qualified in gas safety and our training areas are kitted out with a complete range of gas appliances and testing equipment, simulating a domestic situation.

Thanks to our sponsorship by Remeha, Baxi, Worcester and Robinson Willey, the training area on our Perhshire campus is equipped with the latest appliances that most gas service engineers will use.

There are a number of assessment and training options if you have a current ACS certificate or one that expired less than a year ago.

You study

Assessments in the new National Accreditation Certification Scheme involve a theory and practical test, carried out by approved staff. You will have to: complete a practical assessment; complete a written assessment and be able to answer any questions asked by an assessor.

The theory assessment involves open and closed book papers with multiple choice questions. In the practical assessment, you will demonstrate that you can work safely with gas and identify gas safety faults.

BPEC Certification analyse the paperwork and evidence before they issue a certificate.
