Becoming a doctor had always been my ambition, but life got in the way until I moved to Scotland from Italy.
After trying out various careers I figured out that what I really wanted to do was to take care of people as part of the healing process, but with my age I didn’t think any medical school would allow me in.
And then I found out about the Pathway to Medicine course at Perth College UHI. They work with St Andrew’s University, so where else would you want to go?
As a mature student, I thought it would be difficult for me coming to college, though the people here made sure it wasn’t.
Besides the excellent academic preparation you get, you can really see from the way we’re treated and the way we’re taught how much the lecturers love their subjects.
