Jackie Thomson, Access to Nursing student at Perth College UHI

Jackie Thomson, Access to Nursing student at Perth College UHI

After working as an auxiliary nurse for eight years, Jackie decided to complete the qualifications needed to become a nurse. She joined the Access to Nursing programme as a stepping stone to university.

“This course has been fantastic and is worth considering for anyone
wishing to join the allied health profession as it provides a broad base of knowledge for the care environment. The class brings
together a range of backgrounds, life experiences and support, with many of us having children and juggling our priorities.

“I’m over the moon to be awarded the Health, Care and Social Science Scholarship this year, which reinforces that what I’m doing must be right. I wholeheartedly recommend Perth College UHI and am encouraging my sporty 12-year-old daughter to consider what course she might join in the future!”
