Top Fiddler to play in Perth
Douglas Lawrence will be playing Scots Fiddle at Methven Castle, near Perth, on Sunday 12 September, starting at 3pm.
Former winner of the “Golden Fiddle” award, Dougie spent twenty years with the RSNO, and now concentrates on Scottish fiddle music, travelling the world to give workshops and masterclasses on the works of the great Scottish fiddle masters.
He works extensively in America as well as from home in Glasgow, and is known as a performer, teacher, composer and adjudicator.
Dougie will be accompanied by Perth based Maureen Rutherford on keyboards. This is only the second time the two have played a recital like this so places are limited.
Book by calling 01738 840016 or emailing enquiries@methvencastle.com.
Minimum donation of £12.50 per person, with proceeds going to Perth College (UHI) Development Trust Alzheimer’s Research Project.
