 Meet our Senior Managers 

 

Our Senior Managers are responsible for leading Perth College UHI towards our Vision 2016 by setting and coordinating our strategic and operational goals.

 

Susan Bald, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development

As Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, Susan’s mission is to attract, retain and develop high-quality and creative staff so that we can meet students’ constantly changing educational needs and aims and create a culture of excellence.

 

She has contributed to a culture change at the College by introducing a coaching and team-building approach, and has overseen the installation of sector-leading technology which helps to manage the college’s entire HR provision.

 

Formerly Director of Human Resources for Capability Scotland, Susan brings over 20 years of HR experience.

 

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development having completed the Post-graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, and holds a BSc in Social Sciences and a Post-graduate Certificate in Management.  

 

Margaret Munckton, Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Planning

Margaret leads learning and teaching, the academic directorates, quality, finance and management information systems.  The directors, managers and staff in these teams are highly experienced, well-qualified and gain satisfaction from the success of our students.

 

In 1992 Margaret embarked upon a major career change by leaving the private sector to become a lecturer.  She found working in the college sector really rewarding and gained a range of posts in her time at Lauder College (now Carnegie College), latterly as Assistant Principal before coming to Perth.  Margaret is a Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) and is equally proud of her post-graduate teaching qualification.

 

Iain Neilson, Finance Director

With 40 years' background in financial and general management within the industrial and latterly the education sector, Iain develops financial strategies; manages budgets; monitors financial performance; liaises with internal and external auditors; manages risk register, and is responsible for treasury management and the financing of capital budgets.

 

Duncan White, Director of Resources

An architect by profession with many years of experience of both the private and public sectors and particularly education, Duncan leads a multi-stranded directorate encompassing Estates and Facilities, IT and Communications, Health and Safety, Learning Resources and Procurement. His role is to provide an appropriate supporting environment for the delivery of teaching and learning through best value use of financial resources. 

 

Under his steer, Perth College UHI has produced a new Campus Estates Masterplan and is working towards the development of the first phase of exciting and sustainable new buildings and improvements that will provide the College and its students and staff with first-class facilities to support its continued expansion on both the national and international stages.

 

Sara Wood, Director of Communications and Corporate Development

Sara directs communications and corporate development, including: marketing, planning and international business. With a background in banking and corporate marketing, Sara brings more than 25 years of diverse business experience to the College.

 

Her role is to engender a quality communication culture which attracts, for the long-term, staff, students and supporters to the College and its activities.  

 

Under her direction, the College has received a number of nominations, awards and accolades in both the further education sector and the local business community, and has expanded its provision for international customers.
