Our Principal, Dr Thomas Moore, has a deep commitment to lifelong learning and wide-ranging experience within education.
As well as ensuring that our students get the most from their time here, he wants to make Perth College UHI a key partner in the economic regeneration and social cohesion of the local area.
Dr Moore, originally from Northern Ireland, trained as a nurse before gaining a teaching qualification in a further education college in Belfast, which gave him a lifelong passion for learning. He then worked in a range of education, policy and managerial positions, most recently within the Welsh Assembly government and then Glyndwr University in North Wales.
No stranger to Scotland, Dr Moore previously worked for NHS Grampian in Aberdeen and in the Robert Gordon University as Associate Dean and Head of School. He aims to build upon Perth’s achievements, and to work closely with staff, board members, partners and stakeholders to meet the needs of the region and beyond.
