 About Perth

Although we've been voted the best place to live in Scotland and we're one of the friendliest cities in Britain, it doesn't mean that Perth is a quiet wee town.

Because with all the restaurants, cafes, bars and a concert hall and a theatre, night life in Perth offers something for everyone: from luxury to cheap and cheerful!

Perthshire is often called the outdoor sports and adventure capital of the country, and has a serious reputation for mountain biking, watersports and hill walking, in some of the best scenery in the country.

For the fitness conscious we have gyms and leisure facilities across the area, our own leisure pool, an ice rink for Scotland’s national sport, curling, and even our local Scottish Premier League football team, St Johnstone FC, based at McDiarmid Park.

There's lots happening on the Perth College UHI campus too. A funky student union right in the heart of our campus has a Costa coffee bar, discounted student prices, a pool table, comfy furniture you can chill out on and enough space for live bands. It's the coolest place on campus...

Also based in the Union is our Students' Association which organises a host of events throughout the year, including the annual Freshers' Fair and Graduation Ball, as well as bar nights and promotions.
