 Get Involved!

There are a lots of ways in which you can get involved in student life at Perth College UHI. You can volunteer as a member of the Student Executive Team, you could be nominated as a Student Representative for your class group and become part of the Student Representative Council or you might even want to stand for election as the Student President!

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Each year, classes within the College elect a Student Representative from the group. The role of this person is to gather the views and opinions of their fellow classmates on the course, the college facilities, the support available for students, and anything else any student wants to comment on.

The Student Rep then has opportunities to share this feedback with other students and with college staff through SRC meetings, course committee meetings and other forums. This feedback is very important within the College as it allows developments to take place in light of what students think and what their experience has been like.

Student Executive Team

Every year the Students’ Association runs elections to elect nominated students into a range of posts that make up the Student Executive Team. Those elected in May contribute to the running of the Association in the following academic year, working alongside staff.

Most of the available posts are voluntary in nature and are a great way to get involved in the College, learn new skills and boost your CV. The Student President position is a full-time, sabbatical, paid role and involves, among a range of other tasks, leading the Executive Team. Other roles in the Executive Team are part-time, paid Vice-President positions:

  • Vice-President: Communications and Events
  • Vice-President: Clubs and Societies

The Student Executive team also has a range of volunteer posts to promote specific interests.

Clubs and Societies

We always aim to improve the range and number of clubs and societies that the Association operates to offer students as much of a choice as possible. If you have an idea for a new club or society or would like to get involved in setting one up, please let us know. The Association staff and volunteers can tell you more about this and would be delighted to hear your ideas.
